SEO for local service businesses that brings in real enquiries.
Local SEO is the work that makes a business show up when somebody in its service area types the problem into Google. aipple does the technical repair, the page structure and the writing that has to happen before a search engine will rank a service business, then reports the result out of Search Console: impressions, clicks, and where the core term actually sits.
What does SEO for a local service business actually mean?
It means three jobs done in order. First, make the site readable: fix the code, the addresses, the duplicate listings and the broken pages that stop a search engine indexing anything. Second, give the business a page for every job it sells, written long enough and specifically enough to be the answer somebody was searching for. Third, keep earning trust signals, reviews on the Google Business Profile, mentions elsewhere, and content that answers the questions buyers ask before they call. Skipping straight to step three is the most common way money gets spent on SEO with nothing to show for it, because a page nobody can index cannot rank no matter how well it is written.
What does a real SEO rebuild involve?
Starr Law, P.C. is the clearest example in our work. The McKinney criminal defence firm carried a Plano address on its own website, practice pages running 85 words each, and every enquiry landing in a single unfiltered inbox. The rebuild between March and July 2026 made 450 technical corrections, removed 44 pages that were either harming rankings or carrying Texas Bar advertising risk, and took the practice pages from 85 words to 1,800. Starr Law recorded 94,500 Google impressions in four weeks and 1,052 clicks between 2 and 29 July 2026, with the average position on the core search term moving from 13th to 8th. Read the full breakdown in the Starr Law case study.
Why is my site not showing up on Google at all?
Usually because there is nothing on it for Google to read. When we audited Pana Pro Builders in May 2026 the site held roughly one kilobyte of readable text behind a wall of code, which is the reason Google had never indexed a single page of it. The remodeler was also listed under two business names with two phone numbers, and the contractor licence published on the site was a placeholder that had never been swapped for the real one. Rebuilding took the site from zero readable pages to 30. If a search engine cannot read your pages, no amount of keyword work applies yet. The Pana Pro Builders case study shows the before and after on the same 130-point audit, run in May and re-run in August.
Do I have to buy ads to get traffic?
No. MVP Truck Parts records 5.5K organic clicks a month with zero paid campaigns running, measured 5 August 2026, and ranks first for dozens of part-number searches. That is what a strong organic position is worth: the same clicks arrive whether or not anyone is spending on them that month. The tracking now also covers how often answer engines cite the business, 71 mentions across 102 cited pages on four engines as of 5 August 2026, which is the same discipline applied to a newer surface. Where paid ads earn their place is speed and control, and that trade is covered on the Google and Meta ads page. The organic side is detailed in the MVP Truck Parts case study.
How do you decide which searches to chase first?
By sizing the demand and the difficulty before a word gets written, then doing the cheap wins first. The Tunc Law Firm audit in August 2026 is the example we point at: the immigration firm's strongest practice area carried 4,780 monthly searches that were reaching the firm not at all, and its 108 pages sat in four languages with no language tags telling search engines which version belonged to which audience. Neither problem was visible from inside the business. Both were sized, sequenced and handed over. See the Tunc Law audit for how the sizing was laid out.
How long does SEO take to work?
Longer than ads and shorter than most people fear, and the starting point decides which. A site that is already indexed and simply outranked moves faster than one a search engine has never read. Starr Law ran from March to July 2026 before the July numbers above landed. Pana Pro spent the early part of the engagement becoming readable at all, because ranking is not a question you can ask about a page that does not exist in the index. What you should expect early is movement in impressions and average position, which are the leading signals, before movement in enquiries, which is the one that pays.
What does SEO cost?
We do not publish a rate card, and any agency that quotes you before opening your site is quoting the average business rather than yours. A site needing 450 technical corrections and 21 rewritten pages is a different job from one needing a keyword map and four new service pages. The number for your business comes out of the free revenue audit, which reads your actual site, your Google Business Profile and your competitors first and then tells you what the work is.
Why is SEO not sold on its own?
Because rankings are only half a result. A search that finds you and then hits a slow page, a buried phone number or a voicemail box is a search that pays a competitor. We audit your conversion funnel, build your website, run your Meta and Google ads, and answer the calls those ads and searches generate. Starr Law is the clean version of that loop: the rebuild earned the impressions, and a chat agent on the site caught the 2:44am enquiry that nobody at the firm was awake for. Rankings brought the person. Something had to be there to answer.
Straight answers.
How long does SEO take to work for a local business?
Movement shows in Search Console before it shows in the bank account. Starr Law was rebuilt between March and July 2026, and July alone recorded 94,500 impressions in four weeks and 1,052 clicks between 2 and 29 July 2026. A business whose site has never been indexed, as Pana Pro Builders was in May 2026, spends the first stretch becoming readable before any ranking question applies.
How much does SEO cost for a small business?
We do not publish a rate card, because the honest number depends on the state of your site. The number for your business comes out of the free revenue audit, which opens your site before anyone quotes anything.
Why is my website not showing up on Google at all?
Most often there is nothing for Google to read. Pana Pro Builders carried roughly one kilobyte of readable text behind a wall of code in May 2026, which is why not one page had been indexed. Duplicate listings, a wrong address, and pages too thin to answer the search are the other usual causes.
Do I need to run Google Ads to get organic traffic?
No. MVP Truck Parts records 5.5K organic clicks a month with zero paid campaigns running, measured 5 August 2026, and ranks first for dozens of part-number searches. Ads buy the click today, organic earns it repeatedly, and neither replaces the other.
How do you decide which keywords are worth going after?
By sizing demand against difficulty before writing anything. The Tunc Law Firm audit in August 2026 found 4,780 monthly searches in its strongest practice area reaching the firm not at all, plus 108 pages in four languages with no language tags. That sizing sets the order of work.
Can I do local SEO myself?
Parts of it. Completing your Google Business Profile, keeping your name, address and phone identical everywhere, and asking every finished customer for a review are owner-sized jobs that move the needle. The technical repair and the page writing are where help usually earns its keep, which at Starr Law meant 450 corrections and practice pages taken from 85 words to 1,800.
